Read Through Some of Our Commonly Asked Questions
You can consider the following as a guide to let you know how we function, and what you need to do to get your pet a reservation at Guten Morgen Kennels.
Policy About Fleas
At Guten Morgen, we prioritize the well-being and comfort of all animals in our care. Please note that if your pet is found to have fleas during their stay, we have a policy in place to ensure the health and safety of all our guests.
In such a situation, we will immediately contact your emergency contact to inform them about the flea infestation. They will be required to pick up your pet promptly. Additionally, to cover the costs associated with this issue, there will be a charge of $250.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for the original length of stay that was booked for your pet, as it is important for us to maintain a clean and flea-free environment for all our guests. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our facility free from fleas and ensuring the well-being of all the animals in our care.
Payment Details and Business Hours
A $15/day deposit is required at the time of booking. The customer will pay the remainder due for boarding when they pick up their pets, unless other arrangements are made. If your reservation is canceled less than 10 days prior to your reservation, you will be responsible for the full stay.
We accept cash or check. A $35 NSF fee will be applied for all returned checks. Get in touch with us for more details.
We are available in the morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and in the evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday for drop-off and pick-up. If for some reason our hours don’t work with your plans, please ask and we may be able to accommodate you. Appointments to pick up and drop off are always required. Please call ahead if you will be late or need to cancel your appointment.
Property Damage Policy
We understand that dogs explore and play in different ways. However, if your dog causes excessive or repeated damage to toys, cots, bedding, fencing, or other boarding property beyond normal wear and tear, replacement or repair costs may be charged to the owner.
We will notify owners of any significant damage and discuss applicable charges. By booking boarding services, owners acknowledge responsibility for damages caused by their dog due to destructive behavior.
Liability & Owner Responsibility
While every precaution will be taken to prevent accidents, injury, escape, fire, illness or death; animals at Guten Morgen Kennels are boarded at the OWNER'S risk. Guten Morgen Kennels shall not be held financially responsible in any way for the animal.
***If your animal attacks another boarder or human, the pet OWNER shall be wholly and soley responsible for the damages, both compensatory and punitive, vet or hopsital bills, and any other costs arising from the OWNER'S animal's actions.
In the event of illness or injury, a qualified veterinarian will be summoned and the owner will be notified as soon as possible. The owner is responsible for payment of all costs associated with veterinary care, including but not limited to veterinary bills, medications, food, and any related expenses. In addition, a $50 surcharge will be applied on top of all such expenses. If Guten Morgen Kennels deems that the owner has abandoned the animal, it will give written notice to the owner, and five days after such notice, the animal may be placed in accordance with Pennsylvania State Law.
Medication, Food, and Supply Purchases
In the event that Guten Morgen Kennels is required to obtain medications, food, or any other supplies for the animal during its stay, the owner agrees to reimburse all associated costs. In addition, a $50 surcharge will be applied.
